Hello, my name is Sarah, I’m 10 years old and almost 11. Since I was very little, I’ve been going to Alternative International School of Angers. I did all my school years here, from preschool to CM2. It’s kind of like my second home. I grew up at the same time as my school. I saw it change, get new classrooms, new friends, and new ideas. And it taught me something important: even in the grown-up world, nothing stays the same. Everything moves, and you can always learn and get better while staying happy. Now my CM2 year is ending and it feels a bit strange. I’m super excited and can’t wait to go to middle school, but at the same time, I feel a little sad to leave the school where I grew up. It’s here that I learned how to read, write, count… but also to believe in myself.It’s where I made my very first friends, the ones I ran with in the playground, played tag with, and laughed a lot. I’ll never forget the grown-ups at school. They were always kind, smiling, and reassuring.What I really liked is that they reminded us of the rules and made sure everything felt safe. Thanks to the weekly talking circles and the presentations we had to prepare at home, I learned how to speak in front of everyone and to know that my opinion matters. They taught me it’s important to express yourself properly, with respect, politeness, and calm. Sometimes, it was hard for me to manage my emotions, because my little girl life wasn’t always easy. But here at school, they helped me understand my feelings and live with them better. I always felt listened to and never judged. I have so many lovely memories in my heart: time spent in the library, learning to ride a bike safely on the road like grown-ups, gardening sessions in the vegetable patch, educational walks in the park where we learned while having fun, and also getting ready for the school party where we decorated, practiced songs, and danced together. Today, I feel ready for middle school.I’m proud of myself and everything I learned here. Thank you to everyone who helped me grow. I will keep this school in my heart forever. ❤️
